In response to requests by educators and mentors interested in adopting our program, we’ve taken everything we’ve learned in the classroom and developed two comprehensive teaching guides designed to help educators transform the lives of youth through personal storytelling.  Along with our narrative writing curricula — which both adhere to the Common Core standards — we’ve also launched our Self-Publishing Workshop Guide, a step-by-step guide that provides you with everything you need to know to publish your own story collection.

What Educators are Saying

“Using the power of students’ stories, Marjie Bowker and Ingrid Ricks have created a rigorous and engaging curriculum that increases self-efficacy and resiliency, teaches higher order thinking skills, touches students’ hearts and souls, and transforms as it informs, all with an eye on the Common Core State Standards. If you are looking for a curriculum designed to give students voice, this is it. “

“The curriculum developed by Marjie Bowker and Ingrid Ricks has captured even the most reluctant writers, inspiring them to revise draft after draft of their stories. The skills they have learned has also enabled them to gain confidence in writing overall and, as a result, many of them achieved success on the writing standards required by Washington State. I highly recommend this teaching guide as a tool for educators who want to make a difference in their students’ lives.”
